Systems Architect

Competitive Innovations is seeking a Systems Architect to support a project that provides
senior level guidance and management for the Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Chief Information officer (OCIO), Service Delivery Staff (SDS), Collaboration and Web Services (CWS).  CWS provides Enterprise SharePoint and Web services in support of the Department's effort to provide enterprise-wide collaboration, web presence, and office automation solutions.
 
The Systems Architect's role is to provide CWS with Subject Matter Expert guidance to advise and recommend options for improvement and more cost-effective delivery of the support services.  The architect shall conduct continuous analysis to obtain information on the addition of new capabilities, systems expansion, upgrades, systems migration, conversions to new architectures, impact on business processes, and implementation of standards Systems architecture design and build out.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • System backup and recovery activities
  • Systems upgrade/patch/maintenance tasks
  • Fixing or reconfiguring applications as required because of upgrade or enhancement requirements
  • Integration with other internal systems as may be required for the support of the OCIO mission
  • Work with other CWS management systems which may interact with the CWS supported systems
  • Migration of existing sites and data to new or newly designed systems
  • With the support of an administrator, Operations & Maintenance of Department of Justice (CWS) managed websites and applications
  • Respond to service tickets for service incidents and service requests
  • Submit change requests for new and ongoing projects
  • Provide guidance and support for ISSO related tasks
  • Draft After Action Reports
  • Liaison between CWS and external teaming partners for all technical matters
  • Workflow Automation
  • Design and develop workflows/automation in SharePoint, Flow, Jira or Remedy
  • Develop user interface, middle-tier business components, and database layer solutions.
  • Technical documentation, process reengineering, cost analysis and process reviews.
  • Custom development within SharePoint to support a more user friendly environment
  • Design and configuration of new project sites
  • Support of Open Source Technology
  • Site Re-architecture
  • Lead the re-architecture of the corporate site collections
  • Review architecture options with the client
  • Plan and support the execution of data migration into the new architecture
  • Implement, Test, and Deploy a new architecture
 
Required Qualifications:
 
  • Public Trust Clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Experience in design and development of solutions that customize and extend SharePoint and Web services in a manner that fulfills business opportunities, as prioritized by the executive sponsors and leadership. This includes integration with other enterprise systems and third-party products.
  • Experience in integrating non-SharePoint related services into SharePoint applications as needed.
  • Experience in implementing a SharePoint site from customer's architecture design.
  • Experience in developing and customizing SharePoint 2016 and integration to SharePoint Online / O365, Team Sites, OneDrive and Dynamics.
  • Develop user interface, middle-tier business components, and database layer solutions.
  • Experience in configuration and management of the SharePoint environment.
  • Knowledge of developing and maintaining SharePoint sites and services
  • Understand, develop and maintain workflows
  • Must be very knowledgeable with regard to SharePoint implementations and Web site solutions in government organizations.
  • Must be very knowledgeable with government security requirements
  • Must be very knowledgeable with ISO 20k processes and implementation.
  • Must be very knowledgeable with infrastructure and network that support SharePoint and Web services in order to facilitate appropriate actions on behalf of CWS and interface with the network and infrastructure team
  • 5+ years of related experience with 3 years in SharePoint including SharePoint architecture, workflows, design, development, and administration.
  • Expert knowledge in web design & development (especially in SharePoint 2016)
  • Expert knowledge in SharePoint Online (especially in the Government Cloud)
  • Expert knowledge of development including business processes and workflows
  • Experience using JavaScript, PHP, to enhance experience in SharePoint sites
  • Excellent written and communication skills across a diverse audience of business, technical, and executives.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and using project management and digital communication tools such as Remedy Atlassian/Jira, MS SharePoint, and MS Office 365, Circle CI, GitHub
  • Proficient in time management, attention to detail, and adaptability depending on circumstances.
 
Desired Qualifications:
 
  • Relevant, up to date systems engineering and/or cloud certifications
  • Advanced education in systems engineering, architecture
  • Hands on Cloud migration experience
